Let The Wandering Journey Begins ✨

Hello, my fellow wanderer!

I hope you are well πŸ˜‰

I have some exciting news to kick things off: I am heading back to Japan for three weeks this November!

And if you are also planning a late-November trip, you and I are in luck!

It is the sweet spot for fiery fall colours (check the JMC latest autumn foliage forecast across Japan here) and way fewer crowds than spring! 🍁

My loose 3-week itinerary plan includes Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Mt Fuji, Kanazawa, and Takayama, but this time round I am adding a few lesser-known gems:

🌊 Izu Peninsula: a scenic coastal escape just southwest of Tokyo, filled with hot springs, beaches, and dreamy ocean views

πŸ‚ Ikaho Onsen: known for its stone-step path and absolutely breathtaking autumn scenery

I also plan to join a few guided tours like this and this to learn more about local culture and traditions for a richer, more immersive travel experience!

🌴 A Little Something Extra

I have been thinking about adding one mini Asia travel gem in each email; something short and inspiring for your next trip beyond Japan.

My last stop before China (where I co-led with my parents) was Bali, Indonesia, and let me tell you, one unusual experience there would stick with me this much… but that story deserves its own email.

Would you like me to share Bali travel tips and hidden gems in upcoming newsletters?

Hit reply and tell me β€œyes” if you are in!

Thanks for reading!

Adventure is out there,

Sam Lee Travel Let The Wandering Journey Begin ✨ Hello, my fellow wanderer! I hope you are well πŸ˜‰ So I told myself I was just going to β€œupdate a few things” on my Japan 3-week itinerary. You know. Fix some outdated info. Tweak a train route. Add 2 to 3 cute photos and call it a day πŸ€ͺ Instead, I ended up reworking the entire thing. Fueled by questionable amounts of coffee β˜•οΈ Because once I started mapping it properly, I realised how much fun I actually had and how smooth the whole trip felt!...

Sam Lee Travel Let The Wandering Journey Begin ✨ Hello, my fellow wanderer! I hope you are well πŸ˜‰ I am back in my hometown in Malaysia AGAIN. But this time I have only one goal only; to go all in on Sam Lee Travel! Not going to lie, it is scary seeing my bank account slowly doing a disappearing act. I came home with two suitcases, a laptop, and a mild identity crisis. But then I realised something. If I am going to be stressed either way, I might as well be stressed building my own thing...

Sam Lee Travel Let The Wandering Journey Begins ✨ Hello, my fellow wanderer! I hope you are well πŸ˜‰ I am well over two weeks into my Japan trip and I am typing this from a very cosy hotel in Kanazawa! I took a night bus from Osaka yesterday and reached the city at 5.40am this morning! I have taken 4 long distance buses (2 overnight trips) so far in Japan and I can't recommend it enough for anyone who: wants to save a night or two of accommodation 🏨 wants to start the day really early in new...
